“How much do classes cost?” It’s one of the first questions asked by many perspective students. It’s always painful to me as a Karate instructor when someone hears the price and says it’s too much. It’s painful because I know what Karate really provides for students and I know they will be missing out on that. To illustrate my point, I’ll summarize a discussion Robert Beard (a successful school owner from Tennessee) once gave.
If you were concerned your child was being bullied and physically abused, how much would you pay to have a personal bodyguard walk around next to them? The numbers could be huge but lets use a bargain basement price of $500 per month.
If you were concerned your child was overweight, had poor eating habits, and were worried about their health, how much would you pay to have them meet with a personal trainer and dietician? Lets use the unrealistically low price of $500 per month.
If you were concerned your child lacked focus and discipline and were worried about them failing in school, how much would you pay for a tutor to be with them every day? Again, probably $500 per month would be a steal.
At $1500 per month (for the scenario above), you get the idea. Karate teaches Focus, Confidence, Self Control, Physical Fitness, and Self-Defense. We strive to make sure each student becomes their own bodyguard, their own tutor, and their own personal trainer. As someone who has been transformed by a lifetime of Karate training, it’s well worth every cent.
Keep an eye out for part 2…
