Potential Character Talk Preview

January Character Theme: Potential

Week 1

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students what potential is and the first step in developing potential.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH:   We will teach students that potential is when something is possible but hasn’t happened yet. We all have potential, but not everyone uses it. The first step to reaching your potential is to believe that it’s possible. You have to believe you can achieve.

Week 2

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students the second step toward developing their potential.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH:   We will teach students that the second step to developing potential is to realize that you can always do more than you think you can do. There is more to your abilities than you can see right now.

Week 3

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach our students how to develop their abilities.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH:   We will teach students that not everyone has the same potential. You never want to compare yourself to someone else because everyone is given different gifts and abilities. Students will be taught that it’s important to always try and be your best and not compare yourselves to others.
