THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students how important it is to think positive thoughts in order to have a positive attitude.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that to have a positive attitude, you need to put positive thoughts in your brain. Using the example of a garden, you can’t put carrot seeds in the ground and expect watermelon to grow. Whatever you put in, a garden or your mind, is what you’ll get out.

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students the importance of having a positive vocabulary.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that the person they talk to the most is themselves. Words paint pictures in your mind. If you say something is too difficult, your brain paints a picture of you not being able to do it. By using positive vocabulary, the brain can picture a more positive outcome.

Week 4

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students that you need to focus on the positive and not the negative to build on your success.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that in life, you can’t focus on the dirt, to use the analogy of a gold miner. A gold miner can’t be too focused on the dirt they need to dig, otherwise, they wouldn’t stay motivated enough to find the gold.
