WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that the first step to being a positive person is to have a positive attitude. If you think negatively about yourself or your abilities, you will give up on yourself and not try hard. In order to become our best, we must develop an attitude that encourages us to give our best.

Week 2

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students how important it is to think positive thoughts in order to have a positive attitude.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that to have a positive attitude, you need to put positive thoughts in your brain. Using the example of a garden, you can’t put carrot seeds in the ground and expect watermelon to grow. Whatever you put in, a garden or your mind, is what you’ll get out.

Week 3

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students the importance of having a positive vocabulary.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that the person they talk to the most is themselves. Words paint pictures in your mind. If you say something is too difficult, your brain paints a picture of you not being able to do it. By using positive vocabulary, the brain can picture a more positive outcome.

Week 4

THE GOAL: The goal of this week’s lesson is to teach students that you need to focus on the positive and not the negative to build on your success.

WHAT WE’LL TEACH: We will teach students that in life, you can’t focus on the dirt, to use the analogy of a gold miner. A gold miner can’t be too focused on the dirt they need to dig, otherwise, they wouldn’t stay motivated enough to find the gold.
